Abstract

Argues that in the first half of Matthias' reign (until 1474/1479) the royal palace of Visegrád declined, but after the king's marriage to Beatrix of Aragón new building works were begun. This study is based on archaeological excavations and contemporary descriptions, especially that of Antonio Bonfini.
