Introduced by Daniel C. Hallin and Paolo Mancini, the book takes stock of twenty years of exciting transformation of east European media systems after the collapse of communism in 1989—an explicit, comparative, academic discussion of media politics. The volume was co-published with the Center for Media and Communication Studies at CEU and was supported by COST A30--a research project of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology.
