Professor Aleh Cherp and Jessica Jewell from CEU's Department of Environmental Scienes and Policy publish three co-authored articles on energy secuirty and climate change mitigation policies.
- 'Energy security under de-carbonization scenarios: An assessment framework and evaluation under different technology and policy choices' published in Energy Policy proposes a novel framework for assessing long-term energy security and demonstrates the effect of long-term climate policies on trade and diversity of energy options under various technology choices.
- 'Global energy security under different climate policies, GDP growth rates and fossil resource availabilities' published in Climatic Change analyses the effects of climate policies, various economic growth rates and fossil fuel availability on energy security in the 21st century. It proves that energy security is not only higher under climate policies but also less dependent on uncertain factors.
- 'Energy security of China, India, the EU and the US under long-term scenarios: Results from six IAMs' scheduled for publication in Climate Change Economics explores data from six integrated assessment models to analyze whether climate policies will favorably impact energy security in four major economies.
